Note: What was the “File” menu in previous versions of
Word has been replaced by the “Office Button:” Click on ![]()

Click on the Office button: Click on "New". Word will
display a new blank document. |

Open an existing
document: |
Click on the Office button: Click on
"Open". Word will
display the “File Open” dialog box. |

Save a document
for the first time: |
Click on the Office button: Click on “Save”. Word will
prompt you for a file name and path. |

Save a document that has been saved previously |
Click on the Office button: Click on
"Save". Word will
save the file with its existing name (writing over the existing version of
the file). |

Save a document
