Word: Changing Views and Zoom Settings
Updated 2010.09.03
Select the View
tab.
Your five view choices are at the left end of the
ribbon:

|
|
Print Layout View. This is the view that you probably want
to use 99% of the time. It shows you exactly what your document will look
like when you print it. |
|
|
Full Screen Reading View. This view is useful if you are reading a
long document on the computer's display. It arranges the text so you don't
have to scroll – just press the PageDown key on the keyboard when you want to
move on. |
|
|
Web Layout View. Use this view when you are creating a
page for the web (HTML). |
|
|
Outline View. Use this if you are creating an outline
and want to collapse/expand the items in the outline. |
|
|
Draft View. This is a leftover view from older
versions of Word. You don't need to use it anymore. |
You can also use the view
buttons on the bottom right of the Word window:

From left to right, the
buttons are:
·
Print Layout view
·
Reading Layout view
·
Web Layout view
·
Outline view
·
Draft view
Use the Zoom slider at the
bottom right of the Word window (on the status bar) to adjust the size of your
document.
Note that this works like
a magnifying glass and does not actually change the size of the text in your
document.

You can also use the
ribbon to change the zoom factor. Click on the View tab, then on Zoom.
