Mapping to a network drive from your dorm PC

To map to a network drive from your dorm PC:

• Click on "Start"
• Right-click on My Computer
• From the "Tools" menu, choose "Map Network drive"
• In the Folder text box, type: \\thomas\students\xxxxxxxx
  where the "xxxxxxx" is your user name. Note the direction of the slashes – these are backslashes (above the "Enter" key on most keyboards).
• Click on the "different user name" hyperlink
• Enter your user name and password in the appropriate text boxes
• Click on the "OK" button
• If you want your computer to automatically connect every time you log on in the future, click the "Reconnect at logon" check box, and you should never have to do this again (theoretically).
• Click on the "Finish" button.
• Your network drive should appear whenever you open Windows Explorer.
