Center for Entrepreneurship

The Small Business Lab serves as an incubator for student entrepreneurs and as a laboratory for Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resource Management and Management Information System majors. Student entrepreneurs learn how to write business plans in a Seminar in Entrepreneurship and viable plans are selected to operate in the Small Business Lab. Other students in the business department use the student businesses as a basis for class projects in the place of textbook assignments. The focus of the program is also expanded to include other majors. Students from departments other than business can also become tenants of the Lab as well as provide consulting services.

The lab provides for two student businesses and they are given professional office space on campus, business equipment (computers, printer, fax, and photocopier), seed money (a $3,000 loan for each business), and resources (library books, videos, faculty support, and student consulting).
