We are proud of
the curriculum we offer
students. We provide a
broad range of courses
which prepares our
graduates not only for
success in
science-related jobs,
but for graduate school
and professional
programs of study.
All four members
of the Biology faculty
hold a Ph.D., and each
teaches courses in their
areas of expertise.
These include courses in
the health sciences, as
well as field courses.
The majority of
our graduates continue
their education at the
graduate school or
professional level, but
many choose to begin
their careers in science
immediately following
graduation. Some of our
graduates choose to work
in quality control or
research and development
laboratories. Some go on
to work in conservation
or park management.
Still others begin
fulfilling careers in
teaching.
Our graduates who
have pursued graduate or
professional programs
have chosen such fields
as genetics, forensic
science, and physiology,
or health-related
fields, such as
medicine, dentistry,
physical and
occupational therapy,
and physician assistants
programs.
We encourage you
to experience Briar
Cliff for yourself.
Please call our
Admissions Office at
(800) 662-3303 or (712)
279-5200 to schedule a
campus tour and an
appointment with one of
us. We will be
glad to answer any
questions you may have
regarding the exciting
field of biology.
On behalf of the Biology
Department,
Candice
Coffin, PhD.
Professor of
Biology and
Chair,
