From the Editor's Mac...

So the time has come. The last Cliff News of my life. Weird.

I remember when I was asked by Michael Crowley if I wanted to be the editor of the sports page my junior year. Me being a mass communicator and journalist, it didn’t make sense to say no. I learned a lot from my fellow Newsers that year. They taught me tons. By the end of that year I felt comfortable with the process. Then a bigger question came my way. “Would you like to be the editor next year?” I wasn’t sure at first if I was fit for the job. I had big shoes to fill (shout out to Mikey!). And to be honest, I wanted to say no. But with a little reassurance and encouragement that I could do it, I decided I would give it a shot.

After I came back from Chicago, I knew I had a lot of work to do. There were some struggles during my absence, but the staff did a great job of working hard to produce the paper when they had the resources needed. Props to you guys.

Over the past two terms, I feel confident when I say the editors I sit with every Sunday and I have done our best to provide a paper that students, faculty and staff can read and enjoy. I know there have been mistakes and some of the editions may have not been up to par, but we work hard behind these Mac screens. We help each other, give advice to each other and make sure we have a great time during the process.

I want to thank my fellow editors for all of your patience and support. You guys have been awesome. All of the staff reporters have done a swell job, too. We wouldn’t have a paper without you. I also want to thank Michael for giving me the opportunity to take on this job and having the confidence in me to do it correctly. Finally, the readers. Your dedication to reading something that we spend a lot of time and hard work on is greatly appreciated.

Well, this is it. Congrats to my classmates on all of your hard work. And good luck for whatever you have planned for your future. Great things are in store for all of us. See you on the flip side!
