The Writing Center
at Briar Cliff
University offers
students the following
services:
One-on-one peer
mentoring: At any
stage of the writing
process, a student may
schedule a conference
with a writing center
mentor who will assess
the student's work
according to the
following areas:

content
development
-
organization of ideas
-
tone
-
writing conventions
-
source documentation
Workshops: Writing
Center staff members
conduct writing
workshops for students
at various times
throughout a given term.
Topics include, but are
not limited to:
- steps of the writing
process: prewriting,
drafting, and revising.
- traits of effective
writing: content,
organization, voice.
Students will be
able to apply skills
learned in writing
workshops across
disciplines and for a
variety of writing
tasks. Check for
