University Writing
Center, located in

place for all students
to strengthen their
academic development by
building competency in
the writing process.
Words matter. They
are an expression of
what we want to
communicate to the
world.
The Writing Center is a
place for students to
engage and collaborate
with their peers, to
learn to diagnose error
patterns in their
writing, and to develop
the skills to write
effectively in their
personal and
professional lives. Our
mission in the Writing
Center is to support
Briar Cliff's community
of writers by empowering
those we serve to think
critically and to write
articulately as a part
of an ongoing process of
self-awareness and
self-expression.
The Writing Center
offers one-on-one
mentoring, workshops,
and various
computer-based
tutorials.
How to use one-on-one
tutoring and mentoring:
