Saint Francis Center

Get a better idea of what it means to live in poverty.

During the two-hour poverty simulation, sponsored by the BCU Social Work Department, learn what it’s like to choose between buying groceries or paying bills, among other tough choices you'll be forced to make with sparse financial resources to draw on.

Each participant will have a specific role as a family members in poverty, an employment officer, a welfare office staffer, police officer, teacher, landlord, utility worker, grocer, food pantry clerk or money lender.

The event is free and open to all BCU students.
