Fall Choral Concert: "Shakespeare and the Spirit"
Sunday, October 26
The Briar Cliff music department presents its annual Fall Choral Concert. The event is free and open to the public.
The theme of the concert is “Shakespeare and the Spirit,” celebrating the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth in 2014 with several choral settings of the famous writer's texts as well as a variety of devotional music.
A special highlight of the concert will be the world premiere performance of Chicago-based composer Paul Carey's mixed chorus version of "Full Fathom Five," commissioned especially for the Cliff Singers. Dr. Adam Frisch, professor of modern languages at BCU, will also speak during the concert to provide modern context regarding Shakespeare.
