Who was Lila Frommelt?

13.09.16 Lila Frommelt

Lila Frommelt was a fixture at Briar Cliff University for nearly half a century - from her arrival on campus in 1952 to her retirement in 1999. Lila served as the women’s golf coach at Briar Cliff from 1972-1999 and was the first coach inducted into the NAIA Women’s Golf Hall of Fame.

In addition to spearheading the creation of AIAW and NAIA national tournaments, Lila organized and ran the Briar Cliff Invitational Golf Tournament, which was renamed in her honor in 2004. Her greatest impact on the lives of the students she taught and coached over the years will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Your support of the Lila Frommelt Memorial Golf Classic creates a lasting impact through scholarships for many deserving Briar Cliff students.
