BCU Theology Professor Selected for National Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
professor of theology Linda Harrington, Ph.D., was one of
only 50 theologians nationwide to be selected to attend "The
Intellectual Tasks of the New Evangelization" Conference
held this fall in Washington, D.C.
Sponsored by the United States Catholic
Conference of Bishops, the conference was for designed for
untenured theologians who have obtained their degrees in the
past five years to examine issues of increasing
secularization and dechristianization of much of Western
culture. The conference also fostered relationship building
between bishops and the next generation of theologians.
“The conference provided both an
affirmation of what I have been teaching and a challenge to
develop ways to help Catholics of all ages come to a deeper
knowledge of our faith.” said Dr. Harrington.
