BCU to Host Annual Family Weekend

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The families of Briar Cliff University students will converge on the BCU campus for some down-home fun during the Annual Family Weekend, Friday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011.

After students, parents and siblings reunite, they will gather on Friday evening for some serious fun and games, including bingo, a perennial Family Weekend favorite, and board games for prizes.

On Saturday, BCU families will take in a Charger football game with Northwestern College at Memorial Field, Sioux City. Later that day, the Charger volleyball team will play Concordia University at the Newman Flanagan Center on campus. During the games, families will gather for a “Game Day Buffet” in the Hall of Fame, Newman Flanagan Center.

On Saturday evening, BCU families are invited to a “Coffee House” at Java City in the Bishop Mueller Library, where there will be craft activities and time for socializing.

On Sunday morning, Liturgy will be held in the Chapel of Our Lady of Grace on campus. At 3 p.m., the Briar Cliff University choirs will perform the “Awakening” Fall Choral Concert at First Presbyterian Church, 608 Nebraska Street, downtown Sioux City.

“We look forward to hosting our Briar Cliff families from across the country,” said Steve Janowiak, vice president for Student Development. “It is a great opportunity for them to visit their students at their home-away-from-home on The Cliff.”
