BCU Social Work Club Hosts Housing Presentation
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Briar Cliff University Social Work
Club will host “Sub-Standard Housing in a Changing World,” a
presentation by Teresa Wolff, executive director of Siouxland
Habitat for Humanity.
This free public event will be at 8 p.m., Wednesday, April
27, 2011, in the Saint Francis Room in Stark Student Center on
campus.
In her presentation, Wolff will address the importance of
providing shelter to low-income families, locally and
internationally. “Poor housing conditions not only affect
the people living in rundown homes, they affect others through
health and sanitation concerns, tax dollars and living
conditions,” she said.
Wolff, who has been with Siouxland Habitat for Humanity
since 2005, has dedicated her career to serving non-profit
organizations, including Women Aware, Continuum of Care and
March of Dimes of Siouxland. Previously, she was the director of
Disaster Services for the American Red Cross.
Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian ministry
that builds homes for people in need, regardless of race or
religion and welcomes volunteers and supporters from all
backgrounds.
