BCU Hosts Col. Bud Day, Sponsors Armed Forces Appreciation Event
SIOUX CITY, Iowa— Sioux City native
Colonel “Bud” Day will recount his U.S. military service at 7
p.m., Friday, May 6, in the Saint Francis Center on the campus
of Briar Cliff University.
At the event, Colonel Day, the most
decorated living U.S. soldier, will discuss his tours of duty
during World War II, the Korean War and while a prisoner of war
in the Vietnam War. This free event is open to all.
On Saturday, May 7, 2011, Colonel Day
will be the honored guest at the Armed Forces Appreciation Gala
in the Saint Francis Center. The festivities will begin at 7
p.m. Music will be provided by the Mearl Lake Orchestra with
entertainment by Tomic Sisters comedy act. Tickets for this
public event may be purchased at the door or by calling

The Armed Forces Appreciation Gala is sponsored by BCU’s
Emerging Leaders. All proceeds will benefit Freedom Alliance
Scholarships for children of service men and women who have been
killed or wounded in combat.
