BCU to Sponsor Green-A-Thon
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Students, faculty
and staff at Briar Cliff University will engage in Green-A-Thon,
a weeklong focus on recycling and other green initiatives,
beginning Monday, March 14, through Friday, March 18, 2011.
Throughout the week, members of the
BCU community will have a number of opportunities to continue
their efforts to go green, including signing green pledges,
learning online tips on how to reduce, reuse and recycle and
receiving green specials in the Roth Campus Bookstore.
BCU’s Green-A-Thon also will feature
the campus appearance of “Cardboard Bob,” recycling contests and
games for prizes, such as Green Quiz Bowl and My Ecological
Footprint.
Rob Perryman, general manager of
Sioux City’s Singing Hills Wal-Mart, will present “The Greening
of Wal-Mart and Why it Matters,” a free public event at 7 p.m.,
Monday, March 14, in the Saint Francis Center on campus.
Briar Cliff University is a
