New Freshmen at Briar Cliff Receive Apple iPads

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University will revolutionize the way students learn and communicate by providing Apple iPad tablets to all freshmen students, beginning in fall 2011.

“Our iPad program is student-focused and future-driven,” said Steve Janowiak, vice president for Student Development at BCU. “Briar Cliff University is about innovation and excellence in living, learning and working,” Janowiak said. “Tablet technology adds a dynamic new dimension to our learning community.”

Briar Cliff will conduct an iPad tablet pilot on campus this spring. Feedback from the pilot will help BCU integrate tablet technology into the curriculum.

“BCU students will be using the newest and best technology available,” said Sara Thompson, reference and instruction librarian at BCU. “Providing our students with leading-edge technology will help them become agile, knowledgeable and enterprising leaders.”

Briar Cliff University is a Catholic institution with an enrollment of more than 1,150 students from 29 states and 11 countries.
