BCU to Host Annual Family Weekend

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Families will converge on the Briar Cliff campus for BCU’s Annual Family Weekend, Friday, Oct. 22 through Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010. After reuniting, students along with their parents and siblings, will have loads of fun throughout the weekend beginning with bonding over bingo and board games on Friday evening.

During Saturday’s Renaissance Fair and carnival on Heffernan Mall, they will travel back in time to the sixteenth century for themed activities, games, contests and more. On Saturday evening, families will gather for a meal in the Saint Francis Center before taking in the Briar Cliff alumni basketball game at 7 p.m. in the Newman Flanagan Center.

On Sunday morning, Liturgy will be held in the Chapel of Our Lady of Grace on campus. At 3 p.m., the Briar Cliff University choirs will perform the “Sing a Mighty Song” Fall Choral Concert at First Presbyterian Church, 608 Nebraska Street, Sioux City.

“We look forward to hosting our Briar Cliff families from across the country,” said Steve Janowiak, vice president for Student Development. “It is a great opportunity for them to visit their students at their home-away-from-home on The Cliff.”
