Briar Cliff University Choirs to Perform “Mighty” Concert

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Briar Cliff University Singers and Chamber Choir will present “Sing A Mighty Song” at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, at First Presbyterian Church, 608 Nebraska Street, Sioux City.

Under the direction of Sean Burton, DMA, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, the concert will feature an eclectic mix of Western Classical Art Music incorporating several nationalities and historical time periods.

“‘Mighty’ is the best word to describe this year’s Briar Cliff Singers and the music we will perform for this concert,” said Dr. Burton. “The sheer vocal power encountered with a group of 70 singers is formidable unto itself. Even better is the choir’s unique ability to explore extremes of dynamic range and nuances of interpretation.”

This free concert is open to the public. A free-will offering will be accepted.

With an established tradition spanning eight decades, the Briar Cliff University Singers and Chamber Choir have been lauded at public performances in local, regional, national and international venues, including multiple engagements with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.
