BCU IT Director’s Book Published
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Nate
LaBelle, director of network services at Briar Cliff University,
has had his book, "The CCNP ROUTE Mega Guide," published by
PrepLogic, a leading provider of IT certification and skills
training company headquartered in Tampa, Fla.
LaBelle’s 149-page text
covers topics in networking, such as BGP, which runs the
Internet, and IPv6, which powers the next generation of
interconnected systems.
“The purpose of the book is
to prepare people to pass Cisco Systems’ ROUTE exam, one of
Cisco’s newest exams, which is required to achieve the CCNP,
CCIP, and CCDP certifications,” LaBelle said. “These are
advanced industry-recognized certifications for engineers and
designers who want to understand and implement professional
Internetworks,” he explained. “My book covers the theory and
practice of routing data between branch offices, large companies
and Internet service providers.”
LaBelle, who came to Briar
Cliff in 2007, oversees routing, switching, email, security,
servers and telephone systems. Prior to Briar Cliff, he was a
consultant for Trilogy Networks formerly of North Sioux City,
S.D.
He holds a master’s degree
in computer science from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar
Falls, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Wayne
State College, Wayne, Neb. LaBelle also has industry
certifications in routing and switching, voice over IP, design,
network security and management. His graduate and under graduate
research was in complexity theory and its applications in
software engineering.
