BCU's SHRM Student Chapter Earns National Recognition
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – For the ninth
consecutive year, Briar Cliff University’s Society for Human
Resource Management (SHRM) Student Chapter has been awarded the
2009-2010 Student Chapter Superior Merit Award. The national
award recognizes the BCU Chapter’s outstanding achievements in
operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and
services to its members.
“By achieving this award, the Briar
Cliff SHRM Student Chapter distinguishes itself as an
outstanding organization dedicated to serving the needs of its
members and to the advancement of the human resource management
profession,” stated Chuck Salvetti, manager of SHRM’s Student
and Young Professional Programs, in a congratulatory message to
BCU’s Department of Business Administration.
Serving the needs of HR
professionals and advancing the interests of the HR profession,
SHRM is the world’s largest association devoted to human
resource management. Founded in 1948, SHRM has more than 250,000
members in 140 countries and more than 575 affiliated chapters.
With over 450 affiliated student
chapters and more than 15,000 student members, SHRM’s Student
Program was created in 1965 to promote mutually beneficial
interaction between human resource management students and
practitioners.
