BCU Sociology Students
Present at Regional Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Three Briar Cliff
University students recently presented their research at a
regional social sciences conference at Northwestern College in
Orange City, Iowa.
Briar Cliff students Matthew Barcus,
a senior from Sioux City, and Charlotte Schumacher, a sophomore
from Juniata, Neb., presented their collaborated social research
paper titled “The Millennials on Marriage and Family.” Barcus
also presented his psychology research paper titled “It’s So
Gay! A Survey of Homophobia and Correlate Factors Associated
with Anti-homosexual Prejudice.”
BCU student Kishan Singh, a senior
from St. Louis Park, Minn., presented his social research poster
titled “Altering Attractiveness with Socioeconomic Statuses.”
Barcus and Singh have double majors in psychology and social
research at BCU. Schumacher is majoring in social work at Briar
Cliff.
This spring gathering of
undergraduate social sciences student presenters from Siouxland
colleges and universities dates back to 1966.
Enrollment at Briar
