BCU Honors Program
Hosts Art Auction and Reception
SIOUX CITY, Iowa –
Briar Cliff University’s Honors Program will host an art auction
and reception, beginning at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 29, in
the Gantz Room of the Stark Student Center on campus. The
event will feature “Gentle Francis, Patron, Protector,” a
commissioned painting by Mary Ann Lonergan, Briar Cliff
assistant professor emerita of art.
Open for online bidding
at
www.briarcliff.edu now through April 29 are the original
painting, framed and unframed art prints signed by the artist
and note cards. Online bidding will be available at the
reception, which will conclude at 5:45 p.m. All proceeds will go
to the Honors Program at BCU. This free event is open to the
public.
“We are excited to
commission this beautiful work of art highlighting life at Briar
Cliff and our Franciscan heritage for our first annual art
auction,” said Paul Olson, Ph.D., assistant professor of
sociology and director of BCU’s Honors Program.
