BCU Students Present Papers at Missouri Valley History Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa –Briar Cliff
University history students recently presented their senior
thesis papers at the 53rd Annual Missouri Valley History
Conference in Omaha, Neb.
BCU students Kelli Langel, Le Mars,
Iowa, Joanne Sweeney, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Matt Chicoine, Sioux
City, presented their research to an audience of history
undergraduates, graduates and professors from around the U.S.
The conference offered the students
an opportunity to reach and learn from a broader audience,
according to Eric Juhnke, Ph.D., associate professor of history
and department chairperson.
Langel, Sweeney and Chicoine, along
with fellow senior history majors Nick Hegge, Crofton, Neb., Jon
Niemic, Las Vegas, Nev., and Brad Moneto, Sioux City, will
present their papers on campus at 7 p.m., April 11 in Heelan
Hall Room 383. This free event will be open to the public.
The Missouri Valley History
Conference was founded and organized by the history department
at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. The conference allows
scholars to exchange ideas and advance historical knowledge.
Enrollment at Briar Cliff University
is over 1,100 students from 28 states. Students are educated in
