Sister M. Arnold Staudt to Perform Organ Recital

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Sister M. Arnold Staudt will perform an organ recital at 3 p.m., Sunday, April  11, in the Chapel of Our Lady of Grace on the Briar Cliff University campus.

The program will include Buxtehude’s Prelude and Fugue in D Minor; Goemanne’s Three Meditations for Organ; Visser’s Exodus: A Biblical Sonata for Organ, Narrator and Choir; Locklair’s Rubrics: A Liturgical Suite for Organ in Five Movements; and Vierne’s  Carillon of Westminster. This free event is open to the public.

During her 31-year tenure at Briar Cliff, Sister Arnold has taught a variety of music history and music appreciation courses, including music history, piano, organ and guitar. She has written numerous hymns and organ music. Her performance schedule includes campus and community organ recitals, liturgies and special events. Sister Arnold, who is a member of the American Guild of Organists and the Sioux City Liturgy Commission, holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Briar Cliff University and a master’s degree in organ from the University of Iowa.
