BCU Professor to Present Reflections on Chinese Fulbright Experience
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff
University assistant professor of history Eric Juhnke, Ph.D.,
will present “Learning Chinese: Personal Reflections on Chinese
Education – A Fulbright Experience,” at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March
30, in the Saint Francis Center in the Stark Student Center on
campus. This free event is open to the public.
Dr. Juhnke will discuss his personal
experiences as a Fulbright professor at Guangdong University of
Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, China, last spring. He also will
share feedback from Chinese students on their perspectives of
higher education.
“As a Fulbright professor, I was truly
able to immerse myself in Chinese culture and experience
education from a global perspective,” said Dr. Juhnke. “Chinese
higher education has an incredible potential impact on China and
beyond.”
Dr. Juhnke, who came to Briar Cliff in
2001, holds a bachelor’s degree from Graceland University at
Lamoni, Iowa, a master’s degree from the University of Northern
Iowa at Cedar Falls and a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas at
Lawrence.
