Briar Cliff University Announces New Members to Board of Trustees

SIOUX CITY, Iowa –Briar Cliff University is pleased to announce that Eric Bertness, Mark Gingery and Chic Wolfe have joined BCU’s board of trustees.

Eric Bertness is CEO of Phillips Kiln Services, Ltd. in South Sioux City, Neb. During the early 1990’s, he developed the company’s international operations in Canada, England, India, Australia, Latin America and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to being a director of the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce and US Bank in Sioux City, Bertness is a member of Nebraska Diplomats, Inc., Greater Siouxland, Inc., The Siouxland Initiative and the Northeast Community College Foundation Board. He also is co-chairperson of the South Sioux City-Dakota County Law Enforcement Center and a member of the South Sioux City Planning and Zoning Commission.

Mark Gingery is president of Custom Woodworks, Ltd., an architectural millwork firm in Sioux City. Gingery is a member and past president of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) Iowa/Nebraska Chapter and serves on the AWI National Chapter Development Committee. He is a member of the Curriculum Advisory Committee for Des Moines Area Community College. Previously, Gingery served on the board of directors for the National Architectural Woodwork Institute and the Sioux City Home Builders Association. He is past division chairperson for the United Way construction division.

Chic Wolfe is president of Office Systems Company in Sioux City, where he has held many leadership positions since joining the company in 1989. He serves on the board of directors for Security National Bank, the Little Yellow Dog Auction Club and is a member of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce’s Good Government Committee. He is on the board of directors for St. Luke’s Health System and Greater Siouxland, Inc. and past president of both boards. He is a former board member and chairperson for Junior Achievement and past president and former board member for the Downtown Rotary Club.
