BCU Announces New Vice President for Student Development
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University is
pleased to announce Steven Janowiak as vice president for
student development. In his role at BCU, Janowiak will be
responsible for residence life, career development, counseling
and health services, security, campus life, campus ministry and
student leadership.
Janowiak comes to BCU from the University of
Idaho, where he was the assistant dean of student affairs and
student engagement program. Previously, Janowiak was director of
the Leadership Academy, Hartman Center for Civic Education and
Leadership at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.
“We are pleased to have Steve join the Briar
Cliff community,” said Beverly A. Wharton, BCU president. “His
expertise in student government, student leadership, volunteer
programs and student life will greatly contribute to the vibrant
culture of service and caring that is part of the student
experience at Briar Cliff,” President Wharton added.
“I am very pleased and humbled to have this
opportunity to join the students, staff, faculty and alumni
family of Briar Cliff University,” Janowiak said. “I look
forward to working with all those who love this university and
its values in creating inspirational learning experiences both
inside and outside of the classroom that transform our
students.”
Janowiak holds a Master of Education from the
University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho, where he majored in
educational leadership. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the
University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, where he majored in
administration and management.
Janowiak, his wife, Kristen, and their two
children are relocating to Sioux City from Moscow, Idaho.
