“Lunch With the Chargers” Raises Funds for Scholarships
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Nearly 200 people
attended Briar Cliff University’s Fifth Annual “Lunch With the
Chargers” scholarship fundraiser, held recently at Texas
Roadhouse in Sioux City. All proceeds from the event, which
raised nearly $13,000, will benefit the Briar Cliff University
Annual Scholarship Fund.
“Lunch With the Chargers” is one of
the many fun ways we bring together our students, friends and
alumni for a good cause,” said Jeff La Favor, vice president for
institutional advancement. “All proceeds go directly to our
students in the form of annual scholarships. We are grateful to
the many alumni and friends of Briar Cliff who contributed to
this year’s event.”
Sponsored by Texas Roadhouse and
FiberCom, the event was hosted by the Briar Cliff University
Alumni Association Board of Directors, “Lunch With the Chargers”
was served by BCU coaches, administrators and 35
student-athletes.
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic
institution with an enrollment of more than 1,100 students from
28 states. Students are educated in the Franciscan
tradition of excellence in the liberal arts and career
preparation in an environment of care and compassion.
