BCU to Celebrate Black History Month With “History Alive” Performance
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
will celebrate Black History Month with “History Alive!”
performance at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 8, on the Stark Student
Center stage on the BCU campus.
“History Alive!” features performer Hasan
Davis who portrays York, the first African-American to cross the
American continent. York was William Clark's slave who
participated as a full member in the Lewis & Clark Expedition.
“As we celebrate Black History Month by
remembering the many important African Americans in our nation’s
history, we are honored to have Mr. Davis and his dramatic
performance of York at Briar Cliff,” said Floyd Webb, director
of Multicultural Programs at Briar Cliff.
A reception will immediately follow this free
public event.
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic
