Briar Cliff University Recognizes Employees for Years of Service
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – At Briar Cliff
University’s Annual Employee Recognition Luncheon, held recently
on campus, 24 employees received service awards, 10 of whom have
20 or more years of service to the institution.
Honored for 40 years of service to Briar
Cliff were Phillip Hey, professor of English and writing,
and Marian Pesky, women’s golf coach and assistant
professor of health, physical education and recreation (HPER).
Those recognized for 30 years of service were
Sister Mary Arnold Staudt, assistant professor of
music, and Beverly Ahrens, staff assistant to the
registrar.
Honored for 25 years of service to Briar
Cliff were Linda Shaffer, executive administrative
assistant for academic affairs, and Dr. Jay Gunnels,
chairperson and professor of HPER.
Receiving 20-year service awards were
Marlys Nashleanas, administrative assistant for the nursing
department; Michael Crowley, chairperson and associate
professor of mass communications; Bobbi Swanson, print
shop coordinator; and Betty Farmer, admissions inquiry
and report specialist.
Employees receiving 15-year service awards
were Sharisue Wilcoxon, vice president for enrollment
management, and Dori Rivera, administrative assistant for
student development.
Recognized for 10 years of service were
Dr. Ted Bryan, associate professor of chemistry, and
Mary Peterson, Upward Bound advisor.
Honored for five-year milestones at Briar
Cliff were Erin Cornelsen, assistant professor of
accounting; Heather Craig-Oldsen, chairperson and
associate professor of social work; Dr. Ted Wilson,
associate professor of biology; Marilyn Eastman,
assistant professor of business administration; Todd Barry,
head coach for men’s basketball; Janet Ward, IT Help Desk
assistant; Damon Clayborne, head coach for wrestling;
Sally Jackson, director of the Office of Assessment and
Institutional Research and director of student success;
Cheryl Olson, graduate admissions counselor; and Nathan
Treinen, head coach for men’s and women’s cross country and
track.
