BCU to Host Christmas Party for Persons With Disabilities

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University students, faculty and staff will host a Christmas Party for Persons with Disabilities on Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Saint Francis Center in the Stark Student Center on campus.

At the event, which is sponsored by BCCares, the Briar Cliff community will welcome approximately 100 residents of Siouxland Residential Services, Mid-Step Services and Opportunities Unlimited. While being served a holiday lunch, residents will enjoy music performed by Sister Mary Arnold Staudt, OSF.

Santa Claus will stop by to hand out gifts donated by Briar Cliff organizations, students and employees. Musical entertainment after lunch will be provided by The Cliff Singers, under the direction of Dr. Sean Burton.

“Briar Cliff’s Christmas Party for Persons with Disabilities is an excellent outreach to our Siouxland community," said Gil Ridenour, associate campus minister for BCCares. “This event not only brings holiday cheer to the residents, it also makes a lasting impression on our students who really enjoy taking part and donating their time and talents.”

BCCares is a function of the Campus Ministry department at BCU, offering students volunteer service opportunities on campus and throughout Siouxland. For more information, please contact Ridenour at 712.279.5485 or gil.ridenour@briarcliff.edu.
