BCU Nursing Professor Publishes in International Journal
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Barbara
Condon, Ph.D., associate professor of nursing at Briar Cliff
University, recently published a manuscript in the Nursing
Science Quarterly, an international journal of nursing.
Dr. Condon’s article, entitled “Artistic
Expression in Teaching-Learning,” presents the results from a
first-time integration of art into the nursing curriculum at
Briar Cliff University last spring. The article highlights the
benefits of encouraging creative expression within the nursing
curriculum as a deeper ability for self-reflection and a richer
understanding of the multifaceted role of registered nurses.
Dr. Condon’s manuscript includes
excerpts from the writings of six recent Briar Cliff University
graduates: Jerod Nikkel, Rachel Pickner, Jessica Goesser,
Jacinta Ruhland, Amber Williams and Alison Berger.
