BCU Inducts 41 Students to Newly Awarded Honor Society Chapter
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
recently inducted 41 students to the University’s newly awarded
Epsilon Beta chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES), a national
scholastic honor society for students, faculty and alumni of
colleges and universities with a Catholic tradition. With BCU
chapter established on campus, DES becomes the only honorary
society at Briar Cliff that is open to all academic fields.
“It is a great honor for Briar Cliff
University to be awarded the Epsilon Beta chapter of Delta
Epsilon Sigma,” said William Mangan, Ph.D., vice president for
academic affairs at Briar Cliff University. “With the
installation of our chapter and the induction of our first
student members, the University has another opportunity to
recognize academic excellence among our undergraduate and
graduate students,” Dr. Mangan added. “We are thrilled for our
student honorees and pleased that they represent Briar Cliff and
Delta Epsilon Sigma.”
More than 100 colleges and universities have
received charters to establish chapters of Delta Epsilon Sigma.
Membership at the undergraduate level is
restricted to junior and senior students in the top 20 percent
of their respective classes. Graduate level membership is
restricted to students with a minimum grade-point average of
3.75 and who have half of their college degree credits
