Briar Cliff University Offers Online Management Certificates

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University is offering online certificate programs with two track options: business management and human resource management – with classes beginning Nov. 30, 2009. Both programs are designed for working adults who are in supervisory and managerial positions.

“Briar Cliff’s online college certificates are fast, affordable and fit the busy lifestyles of working adults,” said Judith Scherer Connealy, executive director for continuing education at Briar Cliff. “These programs offer a wide range of courses on a number of topics.”

The online business management certificate program at Briar Cliff includes courses covering effective management techniques, employment law, labor relations, planning, organizing and conflict resolution, among other subjects.

BCU’s human resource management (HRM) certificate program is designed for working adults who do not have a four-year college degree but are employed as human resource professionals or want to pursue a career in human resources. This program covers management practices, general employment practices, staffing, human resource development, compensation, benefits, employment relations, labor relations, health, safety and security.
