BCU to Host Senior Citizens’ Day Out
SIOUX CITY, Iowa –The BCCares and Campus
Ministry Programs at Briar Cliff University will host Senior
Citizens’ Day out on Thursday, Oct. 8 in the Saint Francis
Center in the Stark Student Center on campus.
More than 130 residents from Siouxland
nursing homes and care facilities are expected to attend the
event, which includes a prayer service, lunch and entertainment.
Lunch will be served by volunteers from the Briar Cliff
community.
“Senior Citizen’s Day Out is an opportunity
for students and employees to be of service to the Siouxland
community,” said Gil Ridenour, associate campus minister and
director of BCCares. “Through this event, we actively reach out
to the elderly as a presence in their lives and to display Briar
Cliff University’s culture of service.”
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic
institution with an enrollment of more than 1,100 students from
28 states. Students are educated in the Franciscan tradition of
excellence in the liberal arts and career preparation in an
