BCU’s Galles to Present “Sacred Time, Sacred Space, Encountering God”

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University associate professor of theology Sister Michaela Galles, OSF, will present “Sacred Time, Sacred Space, Encountering God,” at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 19 in the Saint Francis Center in the Stark Student Center on campus.

Sponsored by BCU’s Faculty Development Committee, Galles’ presentation will incorporate the history of special times and places that are recognized as sacred.

“Scripture and theologians present God as having many faces in the minds and hearts of believers,” Galles said. “I will discuss ideas on understanding the God-human relationship, focusing on the special gifts that enable each person to encounter God.”

The event is free and open to the public.

Galles, who came to Briar Cliff in 1985, holds master’s degrees in biology and theology from the University of Notre Dame.
