Briar Cliff University Welcomes New Vice President for Finance

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University announces that Beth Grigsby, CPA, has been hired as the vice president for finance. In her new role, Grigsby, a 1995 Briar Cliff graduate, is responsible for the leadership and management of campus financial and administrative services. She also has oversight for human resources, information technology, business office, public safety, facility services and the campus bookstore.

“Beth brings a high degree of skill and experience that supports Briar Cliff’s mission of educational excellence and service to the community,” said Beverly Wharton, BCU president.

“My accounting career was launched with an excellent education from Briar Cliff,” Grigsby said.  “I cherish the opportunity to be of service to my alma mater and to be a part of the University’s continuing success.”

Grigsby comes to Briar Cliff from Henjes, Conner & Williams, P.C., where she held numerous positions since joining the firm in 1995. Most recently, she was a shareholder responsible for audit, consulting and tax services to private and public organizations, including nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities.  

Previously, Grigsby served as interim vice president for finance at the University and was an adjunct instructor.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Briar Cliff and a bachelor’s degree in textiles and clothing from Iowa State University.

Grigsby’s professional associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is a member of the Briar Cliff University President’s Leadership Council, Mercy Medical Center Alliance for Women’s Health, Siouxland Trails Foundation and the Taxpayers Research Council. Grigsby and her husband, Dave, reside in Sioux City.
