BCU Hosts Presentation on “Saint Paul and the
Women Surrounding Him”
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
will host “Saint Paul and the Women Surrounding Him,” a
presentation by Sister Mary Kate Birge of Mount Saint Mary’s
University in Emmitsburg, Maryland,
at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22.
Sister Birge’s presentation will be held in
the Saint Francis Center in the Stark Student Center on the BCU
campus. The event is free and open to the public with a
reception to follow.
Sister Birge has authored The Language
of Belonging, which addresses Saint Paul’s use
of family metaphors in 1 Corinthians. She is
the co-convener of the Pauline Theology Task Force of the
Catholic Biblical Society.
“We encourage the public to attend this
intriguing glimpse into the work of the apostle Paul whose
writings have had a profound influence on Christianity,” said
Linda Herrington, Ph.D., theology and philosophy
department at BCU.
