Briar Cliff University Announces Welcome Week Activities
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
announces a full schedule of campus-wide and community
activities planned for new and returning students.
Beginning Saturday, Aug. 23 through Monday,
Sept. 1, the 10-day event is designed to make the transition
easier for new college students and to reacquaint returning
students to campus life.
“Welcome Week really helps our students to
get settled back on campus,” said Tiffany Quinze, assistant vice
president for student development. “The wide variety of
activities offers many opportunities to socialize and prepare
for the new academic year.”
Among Welcome Week highlights are “Luau
Night” with a Hawaiian dinner and activities; a movie marathon;
outdoor activities, including Frisbee golf, ultimate Frisbee and
kick ball; “Art Splash” on the riverfront; a job fair; the
Second Annual Community Food Drive; and “BCU in Black and White
(and a Few Other Colors)” presented on Sunday evening by Paul
Olson, Ph.D., assistant professor of sociology.
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic
