Briar Cliff University Announces
New Board of Trustees Chairperson
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
announces that Sister Nancy Schreck, O.S.F., D. Min., has been
named chairperson of the Briar Cliff University Board of
Trustees.
Sr. Nancy graduated from Briar Cliff in 1970
with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She holds a master’s degree
in theology from Boston College, Boston, Mass., and a doctorate
degree in ministry from Pacific School of Religion, Berkley,
Calif.
Currently, Sr. Nancy is president of the
Sisters of St. Francis in Dubuque, Iowa. She has held numerous
leadership positions, including director of the initial
formation of the Sisters of St. Francis in Dubuque, Iowa;
pastoral administrator at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church
in Houston, Miss.; vice president of Sisters of St. Francis in
Dubuque; program director for Excel Inc. in Okolona, Miss.; and
facilitator and retreat director for a variety of national and
international organizations. She has been president of the
Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) and currently is
a U.S. delegate to the International Union of Superiors General
with offices in Rome.
Sr. Nancy has served on many organizational
Boards of Directors, including the National Association of
Religious Women in Chicago; the Sacred Heart Southern Missions
in Walls, Miss.; Excel Community Center, Food Bank and Baby
Steps Health Initiative, all in Okolona, Miss.; Hospice and
Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque.
Sr. Nancy is the recipient of the Good
Samaritan Award from the Catholic Development Foundation in
recognition of service to those most in need.
