BCU Conducts Summer Reading Camp
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff
University’s Department of Education is conducting the Summer
Reading Camp, July 28– Aug 1, 2008.
Approximately 25 students entering grades 3
through 5 this fall are attending the camp, which is a component
of Briar Cliff’s partnership with Crescent Park Elementary
School.
Four BCU education majors are conducting the
lessons, which introduce campers to high interest, quality
literature while strengthening students’ reading, writing,
speaking and computer skills.
“This camp is a win-win
opportunity,” said Kathy Knipper, O.S.F., Ed.D., associate
professor of education at Briar Cliff University. “Elementary
school students enhance their skills before school begins, while
Briar Cliff students develop their leadership and teaching
skills.”
