BCU Awards Continuing Education Scholarships

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University has awarded Continuing Education Scholarships to 19 students. 

“We are proud and excited to announce the 2008 recipients of our scholarships for non-traditional learners,” said Rita Langhorst, continuing education admissions counselor. “BCU recognizes the importance scholarships have for all students. We are giving much deserved recognition to transfer and continuing education students for their unique achievements and accomplishments.”

The following students are BCU scholarship recipients:

Elizabeth Klein, medical technology, Sioux City, is the recipient of the WITCC Graduate Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a WITCC graduate who is enrolled in full-time daytime classes at BCU and is renewable for a second year.

Recipients of BCU’s Continuing Education Scholarships are Cherri Beaulieu, psychology, Hinton, Iowa; Elizabeth Bollin, pre-medicine, LeMars, Iowa; Gene Boykin, Jr., social research, Sioux City; Marcelina Cockburn, social work, Sioux City; Heidi Fuller, nursing, Sioux City; Amanda Ho, English, Sioux City; Sheila Kellogg, pre-pharmacy, Sioux City; Brian Montequin, nursing, Sioux City; Sunshine Myers, elementary education, Sioux City; Sheri Scott, criminal justice, Sioux City; Bennett Vaughn, business administration, Sioux City; and Dawn Watkins, nursing, Akron, Iowa. Briar Cliff’s Continuing Education Scholarships, which are based on grade point average, require full-time registration in daytime classes and are renewable for a second year.

Briar Cliff University Transfer Scholarships were awarded to Frank Mensah, nursing, Sioux City; Grace Obeng-Mensah, nursing, Sioux City; Pam Husk, mathematics/secondary education, LeMars, Iowa; Joanne Geddes, biology, Hinton, Iowa; Noemi Estrada, social work, Sioux City; and Libby Sharkey, sports science/health/physical education, Cushing, Iowa. BCU’s renewable Transfer Scholarships also require full-time registration in daytime classes and are based on transfer grade point average.
