BCU’s Richard Steinbach to Perform at International Music Festival in Ecuador
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
professor of music and pianist Richard Steinbach, D.M.A. will
perform as a guest pianist in the International Music Festival
in Quito, Ecuador on June 2-8, 2008.
This will be Steinbach's first visit and
performance in Ecuador. In addition to solo performances,
Dr. Steinbach will collaborate in concert with flautists Michael
Titt of Bergen, Norway, Sami Junnonen of Helsinki, Finland and
Wendy Rolf of Boston, Mass.
This international festival is under the
direction of Maestro Luciano Carrera Galarza in conjunction with
the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional del Ecuador. Performances will
take place in various locations throughout the capital city of
Quito including the Salon de la Ciudad, Auditorio Las Camaras,
and the Catedral Metropolitana de Quito.
Steinbach holds degrees in piano performance
from the University of Colorado, the Eastman School of Music,
and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of
Iowa. He has performed extensively as both soloist and
collaborative artist in concerts throughout the U.S., Canada,
South America, France, Italy, Great Britain, New Zealand, Japan,
and China.
