Briar Cliff Announces
Presidential Scholars
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University announces the
recipients of Presidential Scholarships, the highest
scholarships awarded to first-year students.
The 2008 BCU Presidential Scholars, all of whom graduated
from high school this spring, are Kayla Nisley, from Pius X High
School in Lincoln, Neb.; Taylor Braunberger from Trinity
Christian High School in Williston, N.D.; Nathanael Olson from
Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio, Texas; and Korey
McDonald from Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
“Our Presidential Scholars are exceptional individuals who
bring much to the Briar Cliff campus,” said Sharisue Wilcoxon,
vice president of enrollment management at BCU.
“We are looking forward to having these students join our Briar
Cliff community.”
Briar Cliff University Presidential Scholarships are
full-tuition scholarships and are renewed annually for up to
four years of study as long as the scholarship recipient
maintains a 3.0 GPA.
The scholarships were announced following a competitive
application process and interviews with university
administrators. High school seniors who apply for BCU’s
Presidential Scholarships must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or
better and an ACT score of 26 or higher. Active leadership roles
within the community, church and school also are criteria for
the award.
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic institution with an
enrollment of more than 1,100 students from 26 states and four
