BCU Sister Muriel Ford Circle of Mentors
for Women Hosts Program on Women’s Personal Safety
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University’s Sister
Muriel Ford Circle of Mentors for Women hosted the program
“Personal Safety for Women” on Monday, April 21 at 5:30 p.m. in
the St. Francis Center on the Briar Cliff campus.
Keynote speaker Judy Kellen ’89, of
the Sioux City Police Department addressed the personal safety
of women in public places, such as parking lots, ATM
lines and online.
The Sister Muriel Ford Circle of Mentors for Women was
created in 2005 to serve as an opportunity for mentors to share
their leadership and professional skills with female students at
Briar Cliff.
The program is named after Sister Muriel Ford, alumni director
at Briar Cliff from 1946 to 1969 who was also a member and
chairperson of the sociology department for 35 years.
