BCU Hosts “Nursing Research in Action” Seminar

SIOUX CITY, Iowa –Briar Cliff  University will host the “Sr. Patricia Miller Nursing Research in Action” seminar on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in the Assisi Room of the Stark Student Center.

Keynote speaker Leah Shever, Ph.D.(c), RN, of University of Iowa Health Care, will discuss rewards and issues related to conducting nursing outcomes effectiveness research. The event is sponsored by the Briar Cliff University Department of Nursing and the Theta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.

“This is a great opportunity for nurses to learn how research affects our day-to-day lives as health care professionals,” said Richard Petersen, Ed.D, M.S.N., C.N.E., R.N., professor of nursing and chair of the BCU nursing department.
