BCU Marks National Library Week with
50th Birthday Celebration of Campus Library
SIOUX CITY, Iowa
– Briar Cliff University marked National Library Week by
celebrating the 50th birthday of the Bishop Mueller
Library on Friday, April 18 with a birthday party and “Library
of Congress” bingo.
Also during National Library Week, April
13-19, Briar Cliff students and staff participated in the READ
Poster 2008 Contest. The winning poster will be displayed in the
library.
Bishop Mueller Library was constructed on the
Briar Cliff campus in 1958 and remodeled in 1993. Over the
years, the library has seen many changes, including the
conversion to the Library of Congress classification system, the
addition of many online resources, a high-tech classroom with an
audience response system and wireless access.
