BCU Students Present Papers at
Great Plains Theology Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University
students recently presented their scholarly papers at the Annual
Great Plains Undergraduate Theological Conference at Concordia
College in Moorhead, Minn.
Geared toward innovative and creative work in
the fields of theology and religious studies, the Great Plains
Undergraduate Theology Conference is an annual opportunity for
undergraduate scholars to gather and present their innovative
and creative work.
“This conference is an excellent opportunity
for our students to network with other students in theology in
an exciting and challenging atmosphere,” said Linda Harrington,
adjunct theology instructor at BCU. “The informal conversations
among students and faculty from the Great Plains region are
always a highlight of the conference for everyone who attends.”
Representing Briar Cliff University at the
conference were Brandon Harvey, senior theology major from
Gretna, Neb., presented “Confession and Reconciliation in the
Roman Catholic and Lutheran Traditions”; Natalie Scott, senior
theology major of Dayton, Nev.; presented “Conscience: A double
bind?”; and Katherine Holtzmann, junior education major,
theology minor from Yankton, S.D., presented “Mary in the
Protestant Tradition.”
Students and faculty from Iowa, Minnesota,
Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota attended the event.
