Briar Cliff University Hosts 2008 Cheerleading Camp

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Nearly 100 Pre-K through 5 girls converged on the Briar Cliff University campus during a Cheerleading Camp held recently.

At the camp, students learned the basics of cheerleading, including cheer techniques and routines. Campers also performed with BCU cheerleaders and performed for family and friends as a camp finale. Some of the campers returned to BCU and performed at half-time of the Men’s All Star Basketball game held at Flanagan Center that evening.

“This was a great chance for young girls to learn from university level cheerleaders,” said Rosie Moody, cheerleading advisor. “Our campers really had fun showing what they learned to their families and friends.”

Briar Cliff University is a Catholic institution with an enrollment of more than 1,100 students from 26 states, Bosnia, Canada, Ecuador and Pakistan.  Students are educated in the Franciscan tradition of excellence in the liberal arts and career preparation in an environment of care and compassion.
